Abstract: The Operation of Interlocking system is a very important parameter in high voltage substation protection systems. But the electrical and mechanical limits cause several problems in the developing and level upgrading of current interlocking systems. It seems the solution is in the hand of modern automation software that supports IEC 61850. Based on substation automation retrofitting method, all substations in any level of automation can retrofit to higher level in a road map that ends to the IEC 61850 modern SAS. In this article we analyze the effect of this method (retrofitting) on the level upgrading of Interlocking systems. Also we study this method and effect in a real practical case and the results are presented as a practical solution.

Abstract: This paper proposes a new method for simultaneous state estimation and bad data detection in the power systems. Bad data may be initiated in the power systems due to different reasons such as communication failure, incorrect connection of transducers, and etc. Most of state estimation methods do not support bad data detection algorithm or the detection process realizes in some steps after state estimation process. In the proposed method, maximization of good data rate is considered as the objective function. The output of the proposed method includes estimation of power system states as well as detection of bad data. The proposed method is examined in a 5-bus test system. Results confirm the effectiveness of proposed method.
